According to Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson the Ukrainian military’s Southern Command, Russia continued its attempts to land on the island over the past day but was unsuccessful. “They suffered losses in equipment, including two tanks,” Voloshyn said.

Voloshyn also stated that Russia lost about 150 military personnel as well as equipment during fighting in the region. This comes amid an anticipated large-scale Russian advance in Kherson Oblast.

The region has seen increased enemy activity, with sabotage groups attempting to gain a foothold. Voloshyn said that Russia was trying to advance on several islands in the Dnipro River delta, including Kozatsky Island and Zabych Island.
