Russia continues to launch deliberate daily air strikes on residential areas, in an attempt to terrorize civilians. Every night, the Russian forces launch dozens – usually Iranian-designed Shahed131 or 136- of “kamikaze”, long-range drones. They also often launch several missiles at the same time. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, reported yesterday that Russia had attacked Ukraine in October with more than 2,000 Shahed long-range “kamikaze” drones. These drones are usually Iranian-designed Shahed 131 or 136.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force (UAF), the Russians launched guided aircraft missile Kh-59/69 in the airspace of Kursk Oblast and 96 attack-drones from Bryansk and PrimorskoAkhtarsk. By 9:00, air defenses confirmed the downing of one missile and 66 drones in Kyiv and other oblasts, including Sumy, Khmelnytskyi Zhytomyr Cherkasy Chernihiv Kirovohrad Poltava Dnipropetrovsk Kharkiv. Additional 27 drones “located lost” – meaning they disappeared from radars and possibly crashed, one more flew into Belarus, while two more were still active in Ukraine at the time of reporting.
The Kyiv military administration reported that drone debris caused fires to break out in the Holosiivskyi district and the Desnyanskyi district. In the Shevchenkivskyi District, falling debris damaged the road surface, lighting support and power lines. The blast wave damaged the windows of a dormitory as well as an office building. No injuries were reported.
According to Viacheslav Chaus of the regional chief in Chernihiv Oblast a Shahed drone struck a two-story building in Chernihiv Oblast. The drone damaged windows, doors, roof, and foundation. A nearby outbuilding caught on fire and cars were damaged. However, no injuries were reported.
Mykola Noha, the mayor of Shostka in Sumy Oblast, reported that eight Russian drones had damaged infrastructure, a school and residential buildings. They also damaged cars. In addition, Russian forces carried out 11 attacks against border communities in the region. These included rocket strikes and guided-bomb attacks.
Serhiylysak, the head of regional military administration, reported that a Russian attack in Dnipro City late on 2nd November injured eight people including two children. A girl aged 8 suffered shrapnel injuries to her face and a boy aged 15 was injured in both shins. A woman aged 83 was hospitalized with a serious leg injury. Ukrzaliznytsia’s national railway operator was among those injured, the company reported. It also said that the attack damaged the station.
According to Oleksandr PROKUDIN, the chief of the Kherson Oblast, Russian troops attacked 17 settlements in the past day. One person was killed and ten others were injured, including three children. The attacks damaged educational institutions, a school, a library and a church. They also damaged shops, five apartment blocks, and fourteen detached houses. According to reports, one civilian was killed and ten others, including three children, were injured in the attacks.
Local authorities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast reported that two residents were injured by a Russian guided-bomb strike on a home in Preobrazhenka Village – a woman aged 55 and a man aged 45. Over the last day, Russian forces have conducted 266 strikes in 10 settlements of the region.
According to the Kharkiv Oblast administration, two civilians, aged 60 and 33, were injured by a Russian FPV Drone that struck their car in the area between Baranivka village and Snihy village.
