**Ukrainian Drones Take Out Russian Air Defenses**
For the first time, Ukrainian drones launched from a naval drone have taken out three Russian air defense systems. This is according to Ukraine’s Centre for Strategic Communication and Information Security.
The attack was carried out on January 6 in the occupied part of Ukraine’s southern Kherson Oblast. Two Russian anti-missile Pantsir-S1 systems and one OSA anti-aircraft vehicle were damaged or destroyed.
**Cheaper and More Precise**
Ukrainian drones have become a key tool for fending off Russia’s attacks, especially with artillery ammunition shortages. President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the creation of Unmanned Systems Forces in February to command drone warfare.
Drones are cheaper to operate and more precise than most artillery systems, making them an effective way for Ukraine to counter Russian attacks.
**Recent Developments**
Russia has launched 38 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine overnight, but most were shot down. Small Russian units are trying to advance around Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, but the town is not threatened at the moment.
President Zelensky said that Ukraine continues to maintain a buffer zone on Russian territory and actively destroys Russian military potential there.

Law enforcement agents are investigating the interim head of Ukraine’s State Customs Service over suspicions that he failed to declare a home worth over $100,000.
