Ukraine to Showcase Its Potential at World Expo 2025 in Japan
Despite the ongoing war, Ukraine will participate in the Osaka World Expo 2025. The event is expected to attract 28 million visitors from all over the world.
The Ministry of Economy will lead Ukraine’s delegation to the expo. According to Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, this presents a good opportunity for Ukraine to show its potential and get the international community’s attention on its recovery and investments in the economy.
Ukraine previously participated in Dubai 2020 World Expo with its own pavilion, which was visited by over 1 million people and received delegations from 120 foreign countries. Now, Ukraine wants to do it again at the Osaka expo, despite not being able to host the event itself.
In December 2021, Ukraine applied to host Expo 2030 in Odesa. However, it was removed from the list of applicants in June 2023, and Saudi Arabia got the right to host the event instead.
The World Expo is held every five years by the International Bureau of Exhibitions. It’s a chance for countries to show their achievements and face global challenges together. The expo will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, in Osaka, Japan.
