President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has initiated a plan for Ukraine’s victory, which will be presented to the public, but not in its entirety, according to President‘s Office Head Andriy Yermak in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. Zelenskyy recently visited the US and met with key figures, including Biden, Harris, and Trump, with the main goal of presenting the victory plan. This plan focuses on acquiring more weapons and lifting restrictions on long-range missile use, which Western allies have been hesitant to approve due to concerns about escalating tensions with Russia.
Zelenskyy’s spokesperson, Serhii Nykyforov, stated that American officials showed “great interest” in the plan and that it was received “constructively and considered” by them. Yermak explained that the plan was meant to be shared with Western partners before being presented to the Ukrainian public, but certain details will remain confidential. This is because some stages of the plan are sensitive and must be kept secret to prevent information from reaching Russia.
Yermak expressed confidence that Ukrainian citizens will understand the need for keeping certain aspects of the plan confidential. Zelenskyy has stated that the plan includes a series of decisions to be implemented by the end of 2024. Yermak also mentioned that the plan includes specific steps to ensure a just and sustainable peace, such as an invitation for Ukraine to join NATO. He believes that the presentation of the plan will help Ukraine understand if its allies are willing to support its path to victory.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has stated that the Kremlin is prepared to study the Ukrainian plan if it is officially published.
