Ukraine Wins 30 Medals at Invictus Games
Team Ukraine did very well in the 2025 Invictus Games. They won a total of 30 medals, including 12 gold, 12 silver, and six bronze medals.
The games were held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, from February 8 to 17. This was the largest Ukrainian delegation to participate in the event, with 35 injured soldiers taking part.
Ukraine’s medal count is their second best result at the Invictus Games. In the last competition in 2023, they won a record 34 medals and came fourth overall.
The United States won the most medals overall, with a total of 55.
One of Ukraine’s top athletes was Ihor Oliinyk, who won six medals in various swimming events. He got three gold and three silver medals.
This year’s games featured 550 athletes from 25 countries competing across 11 sports, including Alpine skiing and swimming. The Invictus Games were created by Prince Harry in 2014 to bring together service members who have been injured or disabled during war.
According to estimates, nearly 400,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been injured and can’t return to the front line. Many of these soldiers face physical and mental trauma after being released from captivity or the battlefield.
