**Ukrainian Forces Liberate Village in Luhansk Oblast**
Ukrainian forces have reclaimed a village in the Luhansk Oblast region from Russian occupation. The Third Assault Brigade reported on March 23 that they had liberated the village of Nadiya, taking back three square kilometers.
The operation was carried out by the Third Assault Brigade’s 1st Assault Battalion over a period of 30 hours. A graphic video shows Ukrainian soldiers and armoured vehicles in action, with footage of dead Russian soldiers also included.
**Cost to Russia**
According to Andriy Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, the capture of Nadiya came at a high cost for Russian forces. He said that two months of effort by Russian troops were needed to try and take back the village, but ultimately resulted in the loss of two mechanized regiments.
**Luhansk Oblast Remains Under Occupation**
Despite this victory, Luhansk Oblast remains almost entirely under Russian control. The region was captured by Russia in March 2022, before being liberated in October of the same year. It was then occupied again.
**Ongoing Conflict**
In the past day, there were 147 clashes along the front line between Ukrainian and Russian forces. Additionally, Ukraine’s Air Force successfully struck Russian troops in a shelter in Donetsk Oblast, killing several assault groups and drone operators.
