The calls come after reports that Russian oil exports via the so-called “shadow fleet” have nearly doubled in the last year, reaching 4.1 millions barrels per day.
Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine‘s Minister of Foreign Affairs, urged European countries not to tolerate the shadow fleet of Russian oil tankers.
Sybiha stated in X that Russia is an existential threat to Europe, while continuing to “earn millions on energy exports into Europe and through European Countries.” He argued that these funds were then used to fund the Kremlin war machine.
According to a report by the Kyiv School Economics, Russian oil exports via the so-called “shadow fleet” have nearly doubled in the past year and reached 4.1 million barrels of oil per day.
