Ukraine Hits High-Value Russian Radar Systems
Ukraine’s military intelligence has hit three high-value Russian radar systems in the occupied Crimean peninsula. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) carried out precise strikes against one Kasta-2e2 radar system and two Podlyot radar complexes on 29 November.
The GUR reported that these targets were destroyed, marking a continuation of their efforts to degrade Russian military capabilities in occupied territories. This operation follows a similar mission on 28 November, when Ukrainian intelligence operatives destroyed a Podlyot radar system valued at $5 million.
The Podlyot radar complex is strategically important for the Russian military, as it helps detect aerial targets and provide target designation for air defense systems S-300 and S-400. By targeting this infrastructure, Ukraine aims to weaken Russia’s military capabilities in occupied territories.
The operation highlights Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to target high-value infrastructure and technological assets. The GUR reported that “fire work on the military objects of Russian occupiers continues,” indicating a continued focus on disrupting Russian operations in the region.
