**Three Senior Russian Officers Killed in Ukrainian Strike**
Ukraine’s military intelligence (HUR) has announced that three senior Russian officers were killed in a strike using High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and drones. The attack took place in an occupied area of Zaporizhia Oblast, according to HUR.
The three officers who were killed are:
* Captain Nagorny Dmitry Olegovich, commander of the 1st battalion of the 135th motorized rifle regiment
* Captain Krokhmalov Grigory Aleksandrovich, deputy chief of staff for intelligence of the 135th motorized rifle regiment
* Captain Fomin Yuri Viktorovich, commander of the anti-aircraft battery of the 4th Guards Military Base
The HUR said it obtained intelligence on a planned meeting of the Russian personnel and worked with the Unmanned Systems Forces and Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to plan the attack.
**HIMARS: A Game-Changer for Ukraine**
HIMARS is a multiple rocket launcher system that has been a game-changer for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. The system allows Ukraine to target Russian forces from a safe distance, using radar-guided rockets with a range of around 70 kilometers.
The US supplied Ukraine with HIMARS in the summer of 2022, and later provided an older model of ATACMS, which has a longer range of around 165 kilometers. The system’s success stories are numerous, including an attack on a Russian military training ground in Donetsk Oblast that killed at least 60 soldiers.
