**Ukrainian Air Defense Shoots Down Eight Russian Drones**
The Ukrainian military has successfully intercepted eight out of ten Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during a nighttime attack. The Russian drones were launched from sites in Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, targeting multiple regions across Ukraine.
**Multiple Oblasts Under Attack**
The drone assault affected five oblasts: Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson. Of the ten attacking drones, eight were shot down, one was lost in tracking, and one continued to an occupied territory.
**Kherson Oblast Hit Hard**
The Russian forces targeted residential areas in Kherson Oblast, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure. One person was killed, and six others were injured. The attack also damaged 17 private homes, a garage, communal building, store, and several private vehicles.
**Other Regions Affected**
In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, air defense units successfully destroyed one Shahed-131/136 drone over Kherson Oblast. The Nikopol district continued to experience aggression from Russian forces, using UAVs and artillery in attacks on Nikopol, Pokrovsk, and Chervonohryhorivka communities.
**Russian Drone Attacks Increase**
Last winter, Russia launched around 1,000 drones, while in September 2023, it launched 500. The aim of these drone attacks was to overwhelm Ukrainian air defense and target infrastructure.
