**Ukraine Rejects Russian “Peace Plans”**
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has strongly opposed any agreements that could legitimize Russian aggression. Speaking at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) meeting in Malta on Dec. 5, Sybiha said Russia wants to impose its will through ultimatums.
Sybiha compared Russia’s actions to the Yalta conference of 1945, where the USSR and Western powers divided post-World War II spheres of power in Europe. He also referenced the unsuccessful Minsk I and II agreements on ending the war in Donbas in 2014-15. The minister accused Russia of using “peace plans” as a pretext to continue its aggression.
**Russia’s True Intentions**
Sybiha said that Russia’s idea of peace means mass graves, ruined cities, and killed Ukrainian civilians. He also claimed that Russian forces have abducted and forcibly assimilated Ukrainian children into Russian culture.
The minister urged the international community to focus on Moscow’s actions rather than its words. Sybiha warned that Russia continues to expand the war in Ukraine.
**Sybiha Walks Out of Meeting**
Sybiha left the OSCE plenary hall in protest ahead of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s address, calling him a war criminal. Several other foreign ministers and diplomats followed suit in a coordinated walkout.
**Global Concerns**
The head of the U.K.’s armed forces, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, said that the world is facing a “third nuclear age.” The Russian military is reportedly signing 500-600 new contracts per day, which may not be enough to cover its irreversible battlefield losses estimated at 600-750 per day.
**Ukraine’s Air Force Intercepts Russian Drones**
Ukraine’s Air Force intercepted 30 of 44 Russian drones launched overnight. Russia also fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles during the assault, the Air Force reported.
