Today, there have been numerous updates from the Kurakhove direction. The intensity of Russian assaults in the Vuhledar area has significantly increased, with Russian forces attempting to advance on the flanks of the city. However, Ukrainian defenders have successfully repelled these direct frontal assaults.
The situation in Vuhledar has become more complex and dynamic for the Ukrainian forces, as the Russians make their third attempt to assault the city in this war. One of the main directions of the Russian assault is from the south, which poses significant risks for their stormtroopers and armored vehicles due to the open fields surrounding the city. Despite this, the Russian command has gathered forces in Pavlivka, south of Vuhledar, in preparation for the assault.
Combat footage from Ukrainian drone operators has captured the destruction of a group of Russian stormtroopers on motorcycles heading towards an assembly point in Pavlivka. This has halted the Russian assault before it could even begin. The original uncensored footage can be found on our Telegram channel.
In the eastern part of Vuhledar, the situation remains fluid as Russian forces have seized control of the high-rise buildings at the South-Donbas Number One coal mine complex. This has allowed them to use the area as a staging ground for assaults on Vuhledar from the east. The high-rise buildings in Vuhledar, where Ukrainian firing positions are concentrated, face the plains to the south towards Pavlivka. This positioning makes Russian assaults from the road east of the coal mine safer, as they are less exposed to Ukrainian fire.
Russian artillery has heavily bombarded the city with Tornado-S rocket systems in an attempt to weaken Ukrainian defenses before a full-scale ground assault. However, geolocated footage reveals that only a small number of Russian stormtroopers have managed to enter the city and take positions in nearby buildings. Ukrainian fighters believe that these positions will not be held for long and will likely be driven out by Ukrainian forces inside Vuhledar.
To the north of Vuhledar, the situation is even more complex. Russian stormtroopers previously captured Vodiane after suffering heavy casualties during their assaults. They have now advanced towards the South-Donbas Coal Mine Number Three. Combat footage from the area shows intense fighting.
