Odd Systems introduces Kurbas-256 thermal camera for military drones with advanced features and competitive prices starting at $250.
According to an announcement made by Yaroslav Ajnyuk, the founder of Odd Systems, on X 24 October, the company has begun producing thermal cameras for FPV Drones.
In the drone-centric battlefields of the Russo–Ukrainian War, mass production of FPV kamikaze drones is essential. Ukraine has been able to localize 70-80% FPV drone manufacturing due to Chinese export restrictions. Video cameras and analog video transceivers remain the main imported components.
According to Azhnyuk, the Kurbas-256 thermal camera, developed specifically for drone operators, offers high-quality imaging with prices starting at $250. Bulk orders of 5,000 units or more will drop to $150.
Militarnyi was told by company representatives that the cameras have a resolution of 256×192 pixels, with viewing angles of 50deg horizontally and 37.2deg in vertically. The device has unique features such as in-flight color interpretation and contrast adjustment.
