Ukrainian Troops Stand Firm in Kharkiv and Kupiansk Fronts Amid Intense Fighting

Since September 10, the Ukrainian military has reported at least 76 combat engagements. The continues launch artillery and air attacks on the border regions of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts, according to the of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, there were eight in Oblast, with ten aerial bombs dropped. This comes after Ukraine began its assault on the region on August 10, sending 1,000 soldiers into Russian territory.

According to iRozhlas, citing sources in the Kremlin, Russian leader has ordered his military to drive the Ukrainian army out of Kursk Oblast by October 1. On the Kharkiv front, have launched an assault on Ukrainian defensive lines near Vovchansk, with fighting ongoing. On the Kupiansk front, there have been five attempts by the Russians to breach Ukrainian positions in the Synkivka and Lozova areas. However, have successfully defended their positions.

Today, there have been 14 attempts by Russian forces to push Ukrainian defenders out of their positions on the Pokrovske front, specifically in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Svyrydonyvka, Hrodivka, Ivanivka, Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Marynivka settlements. Ukrainian forces have repelled 11 of these attacks, with three still ongoing. On the Kurakhove front, there have been 14 attacks by Russian occupation forces, with three still in progress. These attacks have targeted areas near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Ukrainsk, Antonivka, and Kostiantynivka.

It is important to note that in the past day, Russian losses have amounted to 1,380 soldiers. Ukrainian forces have also destroyed a Russian tank, 19 armored combat vehicles, 50 artillery systems, 68 vehicles, and four other pieces of enemy equipment.

In other news, Ukraine is planning to use interceptor UAVs to counter Russian-Iranian Shahed drones by 2025. Russia has claimed to have downed 144 drones on their way to Moscow, but Ukrainian forces have destroyed the majority of these drones during night attacks. Russian explosive drones have once again crossed into NATO’ Romania, while Ukraine has successfully destroyed most of them. In the past day, Russian attacks have killed at least 10 people in Ukraine, with civilian areas bearing the brunt of the aggression. A Russian missile strike on a university and hospital in Poltava has killed 41 people and injured over 180. In another attack, a Russian missile hit an orphanage in Sumy, injuring 13 people, including two children.
