The Kyiv Independent asked Ukrainians on the streets of Kyiv what they thought about the recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office.
Most people expressed disappointment with the outcome of the meeting. “It’s not good for Ukraine,” said one person. “We need more support from our allies.” Another person added, “I’m worried about what this means for our country’s future.”
**Ukraine’s Bonds Fall**
After the heated exchange between Trump and Zelensky, Ukraine’s international bonds fell to their lowest point in over a month on March 3. This came as a surprise to many, given the close relationship between the U.S. and Ukraine.
**International Reaction**
The meeting has sparked reactions from around the world. Germany’s likely next chancellor, Friedrich Merz, said that it was not a spontaneous reaction by Zelensky but a manufactured escalation in the meeting. Mike Waltz, U.S. National Security Advisor, called for President Zelensky to sign a minerals deal and engage in peace talks.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to launch attacks on Ukraine. Overnight, Russian forces launched 83 drones from various cities at Ukraine. The number of casualties on both sides is increasing, with over 1,350 Russian forces killed just over the past day.
