Umierov: Russia to feel positive news about long-range weapons

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine also announced an increase in AS-90 artillery shipments.
Rustem Umierov, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, announced on 10th October that Ukraine would receive more AS-90 auto-propelled artillery by the end 2024. This announcement was made following a meeting between UK John Healey and Rustem. Umierov also revealed that there have been positive developments in the field of long-range weapons, robotic systems and other technologies.
“More AS-90 will appear on front by the end the year.” We have also good news regarding long-range weapons, robotic systems and other technologies – the enemy is going to feel it on the battlefield,” Umerov told .
The Ukrainian praised the UK for its proactive approach to supplying Ukraine’s defence forces with ammunition, such as artillery, anti-tank mines, mortars, air defense and air defense. Umerov said that this is a good example for Ukraine’s allies.
During their meeting Umerov, Healey and other officials reached an agreement to finance Ukraine’s top defense needs with frozen . They also discussed investments into Ukraine’s defence industry and ‘s Victory Plan.
The AS-90 is a self-propelled gun unit that weighs 45 tons. It is armed a 155mm caliber gun, with a barrel of 39 calibers. It has a range of 30 km. The AS-90 can fire up to three rounds in ten seconds at a rapid pace, six rounds within three minutes at an accelerated pace, and two per minute at a steady rate. The first AS-90 units will arrive in Ukraine by the end of April 2022.
