**UN Suspends Aid Deliveries to Gaza Over Security Concerns**
The UN agency that provides aid to Palestinians has stopped delivering goods through the main border crossing between Israel and Gaza due to security concerns. The suspension was announced by Philippe Lazzarini, who said two recent convoys were looted by armed groups near the Kerem Shalom border crossing.
**Looted Convoys and Security Concerns**
Two weeks ago, masked men attacked a convoy of 109 lorries carrying food, holding the drivers at gunpoint and stealing 97 vehicles. Two days later, a notorious Gazan criminal group blocked the main road away from Kerem Shalom by erecting iron fences and firing on lorries trying to reach an aid distribution point.
**Call for Israel to Maintain Order**
Mr. Lazzarini called on Israel to maintain order and ensure that aid is delivered safely to Gaza. He said there had been a “breakdown of law and order” and that it was Israel’s responsibility to protect aid workers.
**Food Charity Suspends Work in Gaza**
A food charity, World Central Kitchen, has suspended its work in Gaza following the death of three employees in an Israeli strike on Saturday. The strike was claimed by Israel to be directed at a WCK worker who had participated in the 7th October attacks.
**Humanitarian Situation in Gaza “Extremely Grave”**
A review by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is extremely grave and rapidly worsening, with a “reasonable best-case scenario” leading to famine for the entire Gaza Strip. The report said immediate action is required from all actors involved in the conflict to avert this catastrophic situation.
