United Media Plans to Sue Over a Propaganda Video
United Media, a media company in Serbia, is planning to take legal action against the Center for Social Stability. The reason is a propaganda video that was aired on national TV channels and targeted journalists who work for N1 and Nova.
The video attacked the journalists and labeled them as people who spread hatred and violence. United Media says this is not just an attack on their journalists, but also an attempt to suppress media freedom. They claim that the public labeling of their media and journalists as responsible for spreading hatred and violence is shameful manipulation that puts their safety at risk.
United Media strongly condemns the attempt to criminalize independent journalism and promises not to back down in the face of attacks from organizations close to the government. They point out that similar campaigns in the past have led to intimidation, pressure, and physical attacks on journalists.
The company plans to take all legal measures, including asking for a temporary restraining order to stop any further airing of the video. This confirms their claim that the targeting of independent journalists has become part of a systematic campaign of pressure and intimidation.
