**University Wins Protest Injunction**
The University of Cambridge has welcomed a High Court decision that allows it to stop protests on its site for four months. The court’s ruling means graduation ceremonies will not be disrupted, and staff can work without interruption.
The university said it wants to “safeguard” its site from occupation and protect the right of staff to work. It also stated that the action was never about stopping lawful protest.
However, a European Legal Support Center (ELSC) opposed the university’s bid, saying the injunction is an infringement on human rights and sets a bad precedent for protesting on campuses.
**Protest Group Condemns Decision**
Cambridge for Palestine condemned the decision, calling it a “violent move to criminalise and police our movement”. The group had been planning protests during graduation ceremonies.
