**Russia-Ukraine War Updates: January 7, 2024**
The Russian large-scale invasion of Ukraine has entered its 1,049th day. Here’s a summary of the latest updates from the General Staff of Ukraine.
**Enemy Activity**
Yesterday, Russia launched 64 air strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using 95 KABs (guided bombs) and 2,700 kamikaze drones. The enemy also carried out over 5,000 shellings, including 163 with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Specific areas targeted by the enemy include Orishanka, Hraniv, Udy, Zolochiv, Artilne, Siversk, and others.
**Ukrainian Counter-Offensive**
In response to the enemy’s aggression, Ukrainian forces have struck 12 areas of concentration for Russian personnel and equipment, including two radar stations, two air defense systems, and another important object. Our troops repelled enemy attacks in various directions:
* Kharkiv direction: three attacks were repelled near Vovchansk.
* Kupyansk direction: four attacks took place, with Ukrainian forces defending positions near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Topoli, and Zagryzove.
* Lymansk direction: the enemy launched 13 attacks, attempting to advance near Nadiya, Pershotravneve, Terni, Yampolivka, Zarechny, and Makiivka.
* Siversk direction: two attacks were repelled near Bilogorivka.
**Losses and Destruction**
Over the past day, Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on Russian invaders:
* 1,970 enemy personnel
* 10 tanks
* 25 armored combat vehicles
* 45 artillery systems
* Two MLRS
* Four air defense systems
* 83 operational-tactical UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles)
* 170 units of automotive equipment
Our soldiers are actively undermining the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear.
