**US Provides $440 Million in Economic Aid to Ukraine**
The United States has announced a new package of economic aid worth over $440 million for Ukraine. The assistance was announced by Richard Verma, the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery.
**Key Parts of the Aid Package**
The economic aid package includes:
* $223 million to rebuild transportation, infrastructure, and logistics
* $105 million to train Ukrainians in reconstruction and industry skills
* $74.7 million to support Ukraine’s agriculture sector
* $35 million to prepare for upcoming construction projects through the “Project Preparation Facility”
**New Weapons Package**
The White House also announced a new weapons package for Ukraine, which includes air defense systems, armored vehicles, and artillery.
**Ukraine’s Dependence on Aid**
Ukraine relies heavily on economic aid from Western partners due to Russia’s full-scale invasion. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that Ukraine will need over $40 billion in external financing this year.

* A new loan of $50 billion is being finalized by the US, EU, and other Western partners for Ukraine.
