**US Wants to End War in Ukraine “As Quickly as Possible”**
The United States has a clear message for the upcoming Ramstein-format summit in Brussels: stop the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made this statement on February 7.
**New Host and New Goals**
For the first time, the UK will host the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting instead of the US. The group’s main goal is to coordinate international military aid to Ukraine. The UDCG includes over 50 countries, including all 32 NATO members.
**US Defense Secretary’s Plan**
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to attend the summit as part of a tour of Germany, Belgium, and Poland. He aims to reiterate President Trump‘s commitment to ending the war in Ukraine quickly and highlight the need for increased European leadership on security assistance to Ukraine.
**Previous Ramstein Summit**
At the previous Ramstein summit, discussions focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and bolstering domestic defense production. The US has been providing military aid to Ukraine, but this may change under President Trump‘s new policies.
