US Envoy to Visit Ukraine on February 19
Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, will travel to Ukraine on February 19. He will take an overnight train from Poland to Kyiv.
Kellogg confirmed his plans in a meeting with journalists in Brussels on February 17. He said he would first visit Warsaw before taking the night train to Ukraine. His visit is expected to last three days.
In Ukraine, Kellogg’s main focus will be on diplomatic and military support for the country. This includes finding ways to bring peace to Ukraine, which has been at war with Russia since 2014.
Kellogg’s visit comes at a critical time as the US increases its efforts to help end the conflict in Ukraine. However, there are concerns that Ukraine may be left out of crucial negotiations between the US and Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously suggested that Kellogg visit the front lines during his trip to Ukraine. However, it is not clear whether this will happen.
Kellogg has stressed that both Ukraine and Russia must make concessions in order to bring peace to the country. He believes that Ukraine cannot simply “kill its way out” of the conflict, and that a more diplomatic approach is needed.
