**US and Russia to Meet for Ceasefire Talks**
The US and Russia will meet on March 23 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss a ceasefire. The talks will be led by the US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The discussions will focus on key details regarding a ceasefire, but it’s unclear who the US delegation will meet with and whether Ukraine will be included. US envoy Steve Witkoff said that both Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a 30-day halt on strikes against energy infrastructure.
**Progress Made in Talks**
Witkoff said that during his last meeting with Putin, they made a lot of progress. He also praised President Trump’s leadership, saying that he demonstrated a “natural-born leader” quality during their call.
Russia has agreed to stop attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for 30 days, according to a Kremlin statement. The US and Russia will also discuss implementing a ceasefire agreement.
**Ukraine Not Convinced**
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not convinced that the Russians are committed to peace talks. He accused Putin of de facto rejecting a ceasefire after drones hit two hospitals in Ukraine.
**US and China Offer Aid**
The US has offered aid to Ukraine, including post-war reconstruction assistance. China’s International Development Cooperation Agency also said it is ready to provide assistance within its capacity.
**Conflict Continues**
Despite the proposed ceasefire talks, fighting continues between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukrainian forces attempted to enter Russia’s Belgorod Oblast but were repelled by Russian military.
