**US-China Relations Under Strain as Washington Makes Overtures to Kremlin**
Ukraine’s former commander-in-chief and current ambassador to the UK, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has stated that the US is destroying the world order by making overtures to Russia. Speaking at Chatham House on March 6, Zaluzhnyi said that President Donald Trump’s administration had questioned the unity of Western nations.
**US-Russia Relations on the Rise**
Zaluzhnyi claimed that Europe can be Russia’s next target and that fears of Western partners have allowed Moscow to form an axis with other countries. The ambassador stated that Iran and North Korea supply Russia with weapons used against Ukraine, and that Pyongyang has sent over 10,000 troops to fight alongside Russian forces.
**Clash Between Kyiv and Washington**
Tensions between Kyiv and Washington are on the rise following a clash in the Oval Office exchange on February 28 between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump. The dispute led to the collapse of a bilateral deal on Ukraine’s natural resources, after which the US president paused all military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
**Ukraine Needs Military Support**
A senior Ukrainian official told the NYT that the pause in intelligence sharing would make it more difficult for Ukrainian forces to hit Russian targets. However, Kyiv still had access to other satellite imagery, they added.
**US Policy Shifts Under Fire**
Trump’s allies have been accused of working with opposition parties in Ukraine and holding talks with European officials. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks have also echoed Kremlin narratives, claiming that the West is fighting Russia “with the hands of Ukrainians.”
