US and Russia Meet in Saudi Arabia to Discuss Ceasefire in Ukraine
The US and Russia have started talking in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, about a possible ceasefire in Ukraine. This meeting comes just one day after talks between the US and Ukraine.
The discussions are happening behind closed doors, with journalists asked to leave the hotel where the talks are taking place. The US delegation is led by Andrew Peek and Michael Anton, who previously met Ukrainian delegates on March 23.
Russia’s Grigory Karasin and Sergei Beseda are also part of the Russian delegation. The meeting between Ukrainian and US delegates was described as “constructive and beneficial” by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Attacks in Ukraine
There have been attacks in Ukraine, with multiple high-rise apartment buildings hit in the city. At least two people were killed and fires caused evacuations.
Russian forces are also suffering casualties, with 1,280 reported just over the past day. Additionally, a drone attack on Kyiv Oblast injured one person and damaged residential and commercial properties.
US and Russia Talks
The US and Russia are discussing a possible ceasefire in Ukraine as well as other issues. The talks come after previous meetings between Ukrainian and US delegates.
Ukrainian Military Intelligence reported that Russia is increasing financial incentives for military recruits due to a shortage of new volunteers.
