After the recent $400 million allocation of 21 October, a new US military assistance package to Ukraine will be announced in a few days.
Lloyd Austin, the Pentagon chief, announced on 31st October that the United States would soon announce a new package of military assistance for Ukraine.
Austin, who spoke at a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and their South Korean counterparts addressed the presence of North Korean soldiers in Russia. He said that this showed “Putin’s desperation”, and his intention to keep the war against Ukraine going.
Austin said that the United States, along with our allies and partners within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, will continue to increase their security assistance to Ukraine on the President’s directive.
The Defense Secretary stated that the aid would cover “artillery and air defense, armored cars, ammunition, as well as other critical weapons.” The announcement is expected “in the next few days.”
Austin announced the latest US military aid package worth $400 million during his visit to Kyiv, on 21 October.
Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the US was preparing a $800 million additional package for drone production in Ukraine.
