Vance, Trump’s running mate, dismisses Russian election interference

Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, in an interview with CBS News published on October 27, dismissed calls to take action against Russia’s latest attempts to meddle in .

Vance also criticised sanctions imposed on Russia. He said, “They have gone off like wet firecrackers.”
In a second interview that same day, Vance referred to Russian President Vladimir as a “competitor”, or “adversary”, to the U.S. and said that negotiations with Moscow were “a necessary part” in ending the war.
Vance’s remarks come just a little over a week before the U.S. Presidential election, which has high stakes in the future of American support for Ukraine.
