**Venezuelan President Accuses Ukrainians of Plotting Terrorist Attack**

The Venezuelan government also detained two US citizens and two Colombian citizens, making similar accusations against them.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has not commented on these claims by the Venezuelan government.
**Maduro Prepares for Inauguration**
Maduro is preparing to take office as president of Venezuela for the next six years. He won a disputed election in July 2024, with many reports of vote-rigging and fraud.
His inauguration is scheduled for January 10. However, his opposition candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, also plans to take the presidential oath.
**International Reaction**
The US and several other countries have recognized Urrutia as the legitimate president-elect of Venezuela.
Maduro has close ties with Russia, which has supported him against Western sanctions. He has praised Russia’s actions in Ukraine and called Caracas and Moscow “loyal allies”.
