New Commission to Investigate “United National Movement”
A new investigative commission is being set up in Georgia to look at the actions of the “United National Movement”. This party was in power from 2004 to 2012.
The commission will start work next week. It will run for six months and will try to figure out what happened during the time the “United National Movement” was in power.
According to Vladimer Bozhadze, a deputy with the ruling “Georgian Dream” party, this commission is needed because there has been no official look at the actions of the “United National Movement”. Some of its leaders have already been punished for their crimes, but others have escaped the country and are still trying to come back into power.
The new commission will try to show what kind of trouble the “United National Movement” caused in Georgia. It will also highlight those who are still trying to get back into power through violence.
