**Georgian MP Reacts to Opposition’s Request**
A member of the ruling party in Georgia, Vladimer Bozhadze, has responded to a joint statement by four opposition parties. They asked for the “Moscow Mechanism” to be activated with the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe). This would mean sending a special mission to investigate the country.
**Bozhadze’s Statement**
According to Bozhadze, this request shows that the opposition is expecting a difficult final report from the OSCE. The OSCE has already recognized the election results as fair and properly conducted.
“**The Opposition Represents Russian Interests**”
Bozhadze said that the opposition parties have always worked in favor of Russia’s interests while in power. They did this by signing over strategic assets, supporting Russia’s entry into the WTO (World Trade Organization), lifting a visa regime, and failing to take action against Russia in court.
**A Recent Victory Against Russia**
Bozhadze also mentioned that Georgia recently won a case against Russia in the Strasbourg Court. This shows that the government is taking steps to protect its interests.
**The Push for the “Moscow Mechanism” Shows Opposition’s Weakness**
Bozhadze believes that the opposition’s push for the “Moscow Mechanism” indicates how uncomfortable they will be with the final OSCE report. The report will likely conclude that there was no election fraud and put an end to discussions on this topic.
