**Serbia and Hungary Strengthen Military Ties**
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that Serbia and Hungary have established very intense military collaboration. This makes Serbia the country with the most cooperation with Hungary in the region.
**Cooperation Agreements**
An agreement was signed between Serbia’s defense ministry and Hungary’s defense minister, Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky. The document outlines 79 planned activities for cooperation in the field of defense. Vucic said that trade between the two countries exceeded three billion euro last year.
**Energy Partnership**
Serbia is a reliable energy partner, according to President Vucic. He revealed plans to complete a pipeline project to Hungary by the third quarter of this year. The project will cost Serbia 129 million euro and aims to be finished by the first quarter of 2027.
**Historical Friendship**
Vucic thanked Hungary for their friendship in 1999, when they did not allow a ground invasion of Serbia from their territory during the NATO bombing campaign. This showed that Hungary stood for peace and Serbia is an ally on this path.
**Hungary’s Strategy**
Szalay-Bobrovniczky emphasized that Hungary has always stood for peace. He highlighted that Hungary’s strategy includes the enlargement of the European Union and the accession of Serbia. During Hungary’s presidency of the EU Council last year, they consistently emphasized the importance of Serbia’s accession to the Union.
