**Ukraine to Sign US Minerals Deal**
US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said that President Volodymyr Zelensky will sign a minerals deal with the US “in the very short term”.
Waltz made the comment at the Conservative Political Action Conference, saying it was good for Ukraine to be in an economic partnership with the US.
**Trump Expected to Get Nobel Peace Prize**
Waltz also predicted that former President Donald Trump would receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to negotiate an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
This comes after reports that Trump’s administration presented a revised version of the minerals agreement to Kyiv, which was initially rejected by Zelensky.
**Ukraine Open to Deal**
Zelensky has signaled openness to a “strong, beneficial agreement” with the US on investments and security.
However, the initial US proposal sought a 50% stake in Ukraine’s natural resources, including critical minerals, oil, and gas.
**Tension Between US and Ukraine**
The issue of Ukraine’s natural resources has become a key sticking point in US-Ukraine relations, as Trump has linked future aid to trade deals with Ukraine.
Trump has made several controversial statements about Ukraine recently, including calling Zelensky a “dictator” and falsely claiming that he refuses to hold elections.
