Amir Weitmann is the head of the Libertarian Caucus within Israel‘s ruling Likud Party. He says that weapons seized in Gaza must be sent to Kyiv because Ukraine and Israel share the same enemies.
Amir Weitmann of the Likud Party Libertarian Caucus said that Israel could provide captured HAMAS, Hezbollah, and Iranian weapons to Ukraine.
Israel has limited its support to Ukraine to humanitarian assistance and early warning systems. It has avoided military assistance because of concerns about Russia‘s reaction. However, some officials now suggest a more assertive strategy.
“Israel doesn’t really need them.” Weitmann told Euromaidan Press that shipping some to Ukraine was a good idea. We could do this soon.
He said that Ukraine and Israel share a common enemy – a coalition of Russia, China and North Korea, as well as their proxies.
“Russia must be punished and ended. We must show Putin’s regime the price of aggression. He said that the West had a collective duty to support Ukraine and Israel in their fight against these enemies.
Weitmann urges a stronger stance, despite the fact that the Israeli government is cautious about a deeper involvement in Ukraine, for fear of increased Russian support for Israel’s enemies.
“It is crucial that Israel helps Ukraine as the circumstances allow.” “We must show our enemies – including Russia – that attacking us or supporting those who do comes at a cost,” he said.
Weitmann, a former RT interviewee who warned Russia of the consequences last year, maintains that he will hold Russia accountable for its actions both against Israel and Ukraine.
