We will not obey law! The statement of Georgian non-governmental organisations reads.
The NGOs have declared their disobedience and said that the law is just piece paper.
“55 days ago the government broke its word to the Georgians and reintroduced Russian law. They wanted to destroy the civil sector with this law, but were met with unprecedented unity and relentless opposition. The Georgian people will defend their European future adamantly and will continue to do so. They will never be able to live under the Russian boot. Russian law won’t work our country. It will remain just a piece paper that no-one will follow!
“The authorities created a threat knowingly to our economy, international reputation and civil order. They did it on purpose to prevent the from helping each other. We have shown for 55 days now that people will never tire of loving their country. Our protest and struggle for repeal of this law will continue!
“They tried to intimidate with , beatings, swearing, arrests, and illegal fines. But they didn’t consider that nothing could stop from doing what is right, which is helping people. We will continue to work – we’ll help people and eachother and we won’t obey the Russian law.
“We will not abandon anyone, we will protect all those arrested and fined.” Our lawyers will fight before domestic and international courts. We will collect money for each other to pay the fines we have been imposed because of our love and freedom for .

However, we, Georgian civil organisations, promise to protect elections and the vote for each citizen. We will be at every polling place and will monitor to ensure fair and free elections!
