The U.S. Department has stated that this package includes ammunition for various weapons systems, including the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155 mm and 105 mm artillery ammunition, Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems, M1117 armored vehicles, small arms, patrol boats, and other equipment. This package also includes the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW), a medium-range glide bomb that can be launched from fighter jets, which is being sent to Ukraine for the first time.

According to Reuters, the U.S. is expected to announce additional military aid for Ukraine, worth over $8 billion, during Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the White House on September 26. Biden has also stated that he will announce “a series of actions to accelerate support for Ukraine’s military” during Zelensky’s visit. This $375 million package is the 66th tranche of security assistance that the has sent to Ukraine since August 2021.
