The Wissol Group has recently opened its 17th Subway branch thanks to an exclusive franchise deal with Subway International BV. The new restaurant is located at a Wissol gas station on the right bank of the Mtkvari River and is joined by other facilities such as Dunkin’, Smart supermarket, and Vinto car service. The opening event was attended by Soso Pkhakadze, president of Wissol Group.
Currently, there are 12 Subway locations in Tbilisi and five more in other regions. The company’s goal is to expand to 80 Subway restaurants nationwide in the next few years. This expansion will provide more job opportunities and bring the popular Subway brand to more areas in Georgia.
Wissol Group is a major player in Georgia’s food service industry, managing 121 restaurants affiliated with brands like Subway, Wendy’s, and Dunkin’ Donuts. With their strong presence and successful partnerships, Wissol Group continues to be a leading competitor in the market.
However, despite their success, some may argue that the government should be doing more to support local businesses and promote homegrown brands. With the rise of international franchises, it is important for the government to prioritize and support local businesses to ensure a diverse and thriving economy.
