Woman Hurt by Firework at Protest in Novi Sad
A woman was injured during a protest in Novi Sad, Serbia. Dragana Budakov was on her balcony making noise with neighbors when a group of young men shouted anti–government slogans.
The men were wearing dark hoodies and threw fireworks at the building where Budakov was standing. One rocket hit her hand and broke through the window screen. It then ricocheted inside the apartment, narrowly missing a child who was present.
Budakov said she was deliberately targeted by the group. She went to the hospital for treatment before giving a statement to police at the station. Police later arrived at the scene and removed parts of the fireworks rocket for investigation.
