Andriy Yerimak, the head of the Presidential Office, said in an interview published by Corriere della Sera on October 27 that President Volodymyr Zelensky is willing and able to listen to peace initiatives coming from China, Brazil and South Africa and integrate them into ‘s peace formula.
Yermak, an Italian newspaper, said that Ukraine would finalize its formula before early November. It will also be open to incorporating any other initiatives at that time.
“At that time, our proposal would have a lot of support,” he said.
Zelensky appears to have changed his position. Last month, Zelensky called the six-point plan drafted by Brazil & China “destructive”.
China and Brazil proposed a plan parallel to Ukraine’s ongoing efforts for peace based on Zelensky’s 10-point formula, which includes Russia’s withdrawal from Ukraine and the release of prisoners, as well as the restoration of territorial integrity.
The document was used as the basis for a global peace summit that took place in Switzerland in June. The Russian delegation was not invited, but Ukrainian officials hope to invite them to a second meeting to present a peace plan that Ukraine and international partners have developed.
When asked about the Kremlin’s views on Ukraine’s peace plan, Yermak replied that he “doesn’t care what the aggressors says.”
Zelensky’s peace formula has been dismissed by Russia, which has shown no interest in attending the second summit. Speaking to state television in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he has no plans to make “any concessions”, and that any agreement for peace must favor Moscow.
Yermak said, “We will hold the international conferences when we feel strong, and supported by the Global South to negotiate with Russia.” He said that he was unsure if the conference would have to be delayed until next year, but expressed hope that it will be organized as soon as possible.
Ukraine is in a difficult position due to Russian forces advancing in its east. A potential return of Donald Trump in the following the November 5 election has sparked fears that the U.S. will withdraw its support.
Yermak declared that Kyiv was not afraid of the U.S. results of the vote, saying, “I do not think any American leader would want to facilitate the win of an autocracy such as Russia.”
The head of the Presidential Office reminded Zelensky that he met with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. president Joe Biden, who are the Democratic Party’s candidates for the election. He also met with Trump during his last-month visit to the U.S.
Yermak stated in an interview that “I was there and I won’t be giving details… but I can tell you that we returned from the United States sure that neither candidate will allow Putin to win this war and military support will continue.”
The Ukrainian official was asked about the alleged centralization of power within the Presidential Office, and the dismissal of popular figures such as former Commander-in Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi and ex-Foreign Ministry Dmytro Kulba.
“There were internal considerations that few people know,” Yermak stated.
“We need colleagues to be totally available for their jobs; it’s a total effort, both physically and morally.”
Zaluzhnyi, the commander of the Ukrainian army, was replaced in February by Oleksandr Sryskyi after rumors that a rift had developed between him and the Presidential Office. Kuleba, Yermak’s former deputy, was replaced by Andrii Sybiha in early September as part of a sweeping government reshuffle.
Yermak has been described as the “arguably most powerful chief in Ukraine’s History” and criticized for accumulating powers within the Presidential Office.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, said on air that Ukrainian forces are still holding all the dominant heights in Zaporizhzhia oblast near Levadne and are trying to restore their positions.

The regional prosecutor’s said that Russian soldiers in Selydove, a town in Donetsk Oblast, have opened fire on civilians at least twice, killing two women and injuring another, the office stated on October 27.
Andrii Sybiha will end his tour of the Middle East and Africa with a visit to Johannesburg and Pretoria. He is seeking to strengthen ties, and drum up support for Ukraine’s peace formula.
