Georgian Politician Speaks Out Against Government
A member of the “Gakharia for Georgia” party, Zaza Tavadze, says the current government in Georgia is illegitimate. He claims that since October 26, the country has had a government that does not truly represent its people.
According to Tavadze, the parliament and president are not legitimate because they did not allow the Georgian people to choose their own leaders. Instead, he says, the results of the election were manipulated in favor of one party, “Georgian Dream.”
Tavadze demands that new elections be held as soon as possible and that all political prisoners be released. He also wants the current inauguration ceremony to be recognized for what it is: a “so-called” inauguration.
