**German Chancellor Visits Ukraine’s Capital**
On December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. This is his first visit to the city since June 2022. During the meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Scholz promised to supply Ukraine with €650 million worth of arms this December.
**Germany Increases Military Aid**
The military aid package includes two ISIR-T air defense systems, armored vehicles, attack drones, and 10 Leopard 1 tanks. This is part of a larger package announced in October, worth €1.4 billion. The delivery of the IRIS-T systems was previously announced in November.
**Recent Developments**
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry condemned the violent crackdown by Georgian authorities against pro-EU protesters on December 2. Over 220 protesters have been detained, including several journalists and opposition leaders.
Russian forces launched 110 Shahed-type drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukraine overnight, with 52 shot down and 6 flying to Belarus and Russia.

Russian forces suffered 1,790 casualties just over the past day, including 2,030 soldiers lost on a single day in November.
