Charles Michel, the president of the European Council, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of the Russian Federation arrived in Brussels on October 17 to meet Charles Michel. “All European leaders are going to hear how we must strengthen our positions.” Zelensky, in a video from a plane en route to Belgium, said that we must end this conflict fairly. The Ukrainian president arrived at Brussels just a day after presenting the plan in a special session of Ukraine‘s parliament. He had previously pitched the plan before the uncertain U.S. presidential election to the U.S. and U.K. leaders, as well as to German, French, Italian, and French leaders. The plan also includes three classified addenda, which have been shared with partners internationally. “In the EU, you (Ukraine) can count on us for as long as necessary and whatever it may take. Michel, who spoke to journalists with Zelensky, said: “We know that you need more financial and military support.” Michel said, “Your destiny, your future of Ukraine is within the EU,” praising Kyiv’s progress towards membership.
