**Ukraine President Calls for European Army**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked Europe to create its own armed forces. He made this request during a speech at the Munich Security Conference on February 15.
Zelensky said that it’s possible the United States might not help Europe in case of Russian aggression. This is because US President Donald Trump has criticized European countries for not spending enough on defense. Only four countries, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia, have agreed to increase their military spending.
**Important But Not Enough**
Zelensky said that spending money on defense is important but it’s not enough to stop Russian attacks. He also stated that the Ukrainian army has experience fighting modern wars. Without Ukraine’s help, European armies might not be able to stop Russia, Zelensky warned.
**Russia’s Military Plans**
Zelensky said that Russia plans to deploy 100,000 to 150,000 troops in Belarus next year. This could mean a major military escalation for the region.
**Creating an Army of Europe**
Zelensky called on Europe to create its own army, saying that decisions about Europe’s future should be made by Europeans themselves. He believes this is necessary to ensure peace and security in the region.
