In his evening address of October 24, President Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine is developing a plan to strengthen the country on the economic, military and informational fronts.
According to Zelensky the internal plan and the victory plan will ensure that Ukraine has the right answers for all of the challenges this year and next.
The confirmation comes just days after a source in the Presidential Office told Kyiv Independent that Kyiv was preparing a plan of action to withstand Russia’s full-scale conflict.
The plan does not replace Zelensky’s victory plan, but it does provide Ukraine with steps that they can take.
The president gave the task to top Ukrainian officials to develop the plan. The president said that Ukraine’s economy and social protection as well as the fight against Russian disinformation must be strengthened.
“This plan of internal strengthening will also ensure Ukraine’s unification,” he added.
BBC Ukraine reported earlier, citing unnamed sources in the government, that the plan would be ready and presented to Ukrainians by the end 2024. The Kyiv Independent source stated that it could take several weeks to complete the document.
Zelensky unveiled his five point victory plan to the public on Oct. 16. The list included Ukraine’s invitation for NATO membership at the top.
The victory plan includes a component, non-nuclear dissuasion of Russian aggression, economic development and cooperation, as well as establishing a post-war security structure. The plan also includes three classified addenda, which have been shared with partners internationally.
The said that the victory plan could “bridge the gap between the present situation and a successful peace summit.”
