Japan is planning to send an extra $3 billion to help Ukraine. This was announced by President Volodymyr on December 25.

Zelensky spoke with Japanese over the phone. He thanked Japan for its previous aid, which has totalled $12 billion. This money has helped save thousands of lives in Ukraine.

Ukraine recently received $1 billion from Japan and the through a program run by the Bank. This money is to be used for social and humanitarian purposes.

Zelensky had met with Japanese Minister back in November. They discussed North Korea’s presence on Russia’s front line and ways to support Ukraine.

The Japanese government has promised to deepen its relationship with Ukraine. This includes plans to increase economic cooperation and impose more sanctions against Russia.
