**NATO Leader Urges Zelensky to Fix Relationship with Trump**
The head of NATO, Mark Rutte, has called on Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to make amends with US President Donald Trump. This comes after a tense exchange between the two leaders at the White House.
On March 1, Rutte spoke about the need for Zelensky to repair his relationship with Trump. The NATO leader said it was “important” for Zelensky to find a way to restore relations with Trump and the US leadership team.
Rutte described the public argument between Zelensky and Trump as “unfortunate”. He also praised Trump’s decision to provide weapons to Ukraine, saying that this showed respect from the US.
**European Leaders Show Support for Ukraine**
Other European leaders have reaffirmed their support for Ukraine. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas emphasized the EU’s commitment to helping Ukraine resist an aggressor.
Kallas posted on X: “Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.”
**Zelensky and Trump Try to Make Peace**
After the tense exchange with Trump, Zelensky appeared on Fox News to try to mend relations. He said that Ukraine and the US are “very close partners” and that he doesn’t think there’s anything to apologize for.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio later called for Zelensky to apologize for how the meeting unfolded. Zelensky replied that he thinks the relationship can be salvaged because it’s a historical one between the people of Ukraine and the US.
