**Ukraine’s President: Putin Won’t Contribute to Peace Talks**
On March 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would have nothing meaningful to say at peace talks. Zelensky made this statement when asked by a French newspaper.
Zelensky believes that Putin is not interested in direct talks and is only looking for war. He added that he won’t accept Putin’s narrative and isn’t interested in talking to him.
**US Holds Separate Meetings**
The US has been holding separate meetings with Ukrainian and Russian delegations to start peace negotiations. However, before Zelensky’s comments, Putin suggested that Ukraine should have a temporary government led by the United Nations.
**White House Rejects Proposal**
On March 28, a White House spokesperson rejected Putin’s proposal, saying that Ukraine’s governance is determined by its constitution and people.
**Russia Unwilling to Compromise**
Moscow has shown signs that it’s unwilling to move forward on a peace deal with Ukraine. Russian authorities have listed maximalist demands in ceasefire negotiations with Ukraine and the US.
**Russian Attack on Energy Infrastructure**
Despite President Zelensky saying there was a temporary ceasefire on energy infrastructure, Russia targeted energy infrastructure in Kherson on March 27.
