Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the only way to achieve a meaningful ceasefire in Ukraine is through increased pressure on Russia, after Moscow warned it may resume energy strikes and accused Ukraine of ceasefire breaches.
Zelensky stated, “For far too long, the U.S. proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table – without a proper response from Russia. That says a lot. There could already have been a ceasefire — if there had been real pressure on Russia.”
Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire if Russia agrees to it, but Moscow has refused.
Additionally, Ukrainian partisans have destroyed an electronic warfare system in Russian-occupied Kherson Oblast, Ukraine’s military intelligence reported.
Zelensky also said that the only way to achieve a lasting peace is through increased pressure on Russia and security guarantees.
