Russia intensifies its offensive before the muddy autumn conditions – ISW
A US-based think tank has stated that the Russian military wants to make significant advancements on the battlefield before the autumn mud conditions set in.

It said that “a Russian milblogger claimed October 9 that muddy season conditions have already begun in Kursk oblast, and are limiting maneuverability for wheeled vehicle.”
